Understand the property
A fireplace, flue and external stack can be connected to floors, walls and appliances. Photos and any available drawings help define the first questions. A site assessment may still be necessary.
Agree the responsibilities
The quotation should identify the work, the finish, waste removal and any involvement of a structural engineer or asbestos specialist. Ask who coordinates each part before confirming the project.
Review the result together
At handover, compare the completed work with the agreed scope. Record any outstanding points and keep the quotation, drawings and relevant reports together.
